I always liked photos with water reflections. Don’t ask me why as there is no logical explanation. I just do. So since I was in Tomar where Nabão River is one of the main attractions of the town, I had plenty of opportunities to shoot pictures that fit this topic. In this occasion I was at small dam that separates Nabão River and links one side of Mouchão Park to the other.
Photo of a small dam diving Nabão River and linking one side of Parque do Mouchão to the other. Notice the reflections of the abundant vegetation on the water
This time I took the pictures of these water reflections from a staircase near the swimming pool Vasco Jacob
I took these water reflections from the side of Mouchão Park (Parque do Mouchão) close the swimming pool and football field
These photos of water reflections at Nabão River of Casa dos Cubos in Tomar at night, were shot at the time of the Santa Iria Showgrounds. Casa dos Cubos used to be some kind of factory and at times it was in decay. This rundown edifice was then rescued and transformed in a place where exhibitions, meetings and lectures are held. Inside there is also a cafeteria and living quarters for invited artists.

More reflections on Nabão River of Casa dos Cubos and other houses nearby. This was photographed from a bridge at Avenida Norton de Matos, during the Santa Iria Showgrounds in October 2010.

This area of Island of Mouchão Park is another beautiful spot of Tomar and the reflection of Hotel dos Templários and the vegetation around on the waters of Nabão River, will possibly delight your senses. This part of the river used to be navigable, I mean the Town Council of Tomar used to rent boats to tourists in this area who would paddle them upstream in the direction of Prado. By the way, Prado is a small place near Tomar where a paper factory was built in 1772 ordered by Marquês de Pombal, who was Head of the Portuguese Government at the time of the King D. José I (Joseph I of Portugal).
I took this photo of the reflection of Hotel dos Templários from the Island of Mouchão Park. Years ago this area of the river was used by tourists who would paddle rented boats upstream
A different angle of the reflection of Hotel dos Templários on Nabão River. You can't see it on this photo but on my left is Estalagem de Santa Iria, which is set in a lush garden on Mouchão Island
Further to the right you can see a partial view of this hotel, the lush vegetation on the other side of Nabão river and apartments which are located at a street called Estrada do Prado
This spot near one of the entrances to Mouchão Park, is probably one of the most photographed places in Tomar. I’ve seen dozens of photos of this area all over the internet, so this series is nothing new for some people. However, the main purpose of this collection is to highlight the reflections of the buildings and other things on the waters of Nabão River, in this case, Vieira Guimarães House, the Old Bridge of Tomar and the waterfalls in the river. As a bonus you can also see the Castle of the Knights Templar on top of the hill.

A similar view of the reflection of Vieira Guimarães house in Tomar on Nabão Tiver. On the hills surrounding the town is the Castle of Tomar and the Convent of Christ
This is a close up of the same reflections. On the left is the Old Bridge of the City of Tomar and on the right are the waterfalls of Nabão river
This area of Nabão River in Tomar, where these water reflections were shot, is at Mouchão Park on top a a small dam, that separates one part of the river to the other and also serves as a pathway to cross the Island of Mouchão to the other side, were Vasco Jacob swimming pool is located. In the distance you can see a small bridge and further ahead the houses at Rua Marquês de Tomar. On my right, though you can see it, is the inn Estalagem de Santa Iria and behind me is Hotel dos Templários and of course the river itself.

These water reflections were taken from the same dam. On my rigt is the Island of Mouchão Park and on my lefft it's still the same Park near the area of Vasco Jacob Swimming pool
More water reflections. The wall on my rigt is at the Island of Mouchão with its beautiful gardens and benches for people to relax in front of Nabão River
This area of Tomar on the banks of Nabão River is located between two bridges, that is, the Old Bridge of Tomar which starts at the end of Rua Marquês de Pombal and the so called new bridge at Avenida Norton de Matos. As a sidenote, if you have been following this photoblog, you may already know that Rua means Street and Avenida means Avenue. Anyway this topic is about reflections on the waters of Nabão River and the historical Old Bridge of Tomar, that crosses one part of the city to another illustrates the beauty of this type of image.
Water reflections of the Old Bridge in the City of Tomar in Portugal. This area is beautiful but to my surprise not many people goes there
Another view of water reflections of the Old Bridge in the City of Tomar in Portugal, shot from the banks of Nabão River in an area with lots of palm trees
Close up of the water reflections of the Old Bridge of Tomar. As you can see, some people were walking on the bridge but cars are also allowed
Believe it or not but these photos were shot basically in the heart of the City of Tomar in Portugal. It may look like somewhere in the Caribbeans with its lush vegetation, but when I took these pictures I was at Mouchão Park (Parque do Mouchão) on top of a wooden structure on Nabão River (Rio Nabão), right next to Santa Iria Inn (Estalagem de Santa Iria). Notice the beautiful water reflections at the river and the luxuriant landscape around.

These are water reflections at Nabão River in Tomar at night. In the summer days I spent in my home town in September and October 2010, I used to walk around the City of Tomar at night, carrying my camera with me. In one of those wanders I went through a street called Everard Street (Rua Everard) which is also known as Levada. In fact Levada is probably more used by the people of Tomar than its real name. On the left or right sides, depending on where you are coming from, you can see Nabão River and Lagares Del Rey which was once used to press olives and produce olive oil. So it was at Nabão River at Levada (Rua Everard) that I got these water reflections. Two of the photos show reflections of Lagares Del Rey and the third one shows reflections of buildings which used to belong to a company called Mendes Godinho.
