Houses and buildings at Varzea Pequena in Tomar
There is no other real purpose on this topic which I called Buildings and Houses, than to show you the old and more recent architecture of a town with more than 800 years old. I want people visiting this photoblog to have a feeling of this beautiful and historical jewel, which at one time in the 15th century served as the headquarters of the Grand Master of the Order of Christ, Henry the Navigator to plan Portugal’s maritime expansion throughout the world.
Some houses and buildings near Varzea Pequena in the City of Tomar. In one of the houses there is a snack bar called Europa. The road on the right of the house with palm trees is called Estrada de Leiria
This old house at Varzea Pequena has been well taken care of and I think it belongs to Hotel dos Templários. At least I saw a sign nearby which seems to indicate this house is part of the hotel
On the other side of Vazea Pequena and Rua Marquês de Tomar, there are of course other buildings, most of them old but not too badly preserved
I have enjoyed your photoblog of the buildings of Tomar. It gives the traveller a good idea of the town and just does not concentrate on the tourist agenda.
